Hi, I’m Alois. Born in 1981, happily married, father of two daughters, and lucky to call the beautiful village of Hermannsburg in northern Germany my home.

Fishing has been part of my life since childhood, but everything changed in 2012. An Irish guy put a pike fly rod in my hands, and from that moment on, there was no turning back. I was hooked — completely. Since then, fly fishing has been my passion, and the fly has been at the center of it all.Pike are my absolute favorite. I love targeting them with my carefully designed, well-engineered full-synthetic and ultralight streamers. At the same time, living in the countryside gives me access to some beautiful rivers and streams, where trout and grayling are always worth pursuing. And whenever the opportunity arises, perch, zander and sea trout are never far from my mind either.

But there’s more to fly fishing than just catching fish. Fly tying has become another passion of mine, one that fascinates me almost as much as being out on the water.

For more than seven years, I’ve been sharing my passion through live fly-tying demonstrations at trade fairs across Europe. I’m proud to represent Arcticsilver, Easy Shrimp Eyes, Fulling Mill, Raidzap and Renomed on the road. I also produce my own predator fly-tying materials, designed to deliver an excellent experience at the vise and on the water.

When I’m not fishing or tying flies, I run an online store dedicated to predator fly fishing, organize fly-tying courses and guide anglers on fishing trips throughout my home region.

For me, fly fishing is simply balm for the soul.

Surrounded by beautiful nature, with a perfectly tied fly at the end of the line and a strong, beautiful fish on the other end, you get those moments that stay with you forever. The kind of moments that recharge your batteries and keep you going for a very, very long time.

Keep it wet!! ;)
